Enrolment for primary schools established by Prague 3
Enrolment for primary schools established by Prague 3 for the 2025/26 school year will take place on 23 – 24 April 2025.
The Prague 3 Municipal District has been continuously increasing capacity in its schools and kindergartens to ensure places for all children from Prague 3 for the given school year. As in the previous year, increased attention will be given to the permanent residence of children applying to district schools. The goal is to prevent purposeful re-registration of children from other municipal districts, which creates artificial pressure on school capacity.
For determining the designated school, the child's permanent residence is decisive (§ 36 para. 5 of the Education Act). The proposal to adjust the school districts of primary schools established by the municipal district of Prague 3 was approved by the Prague 3 Municipal Council on 4 December 2024 by Resolution No. 979.
There are three phases of enrolment:
I. Phase - Issuing Applications
1 April 2025 – 22 April 2025
Applications for Admission to Primary Education can be obtained by the following methods during the application period, i.e. during the period mentioned above:
a) Electronic generation of the application
In the “Primary School Enrolment” application, you can generate an application for admission to your chosen school and book an appointment for the enrolment days. After logging into the “Primary School Enrolment” application, you will find your application in .pdf format, which you can download and print. This application must then be submitted to the selected school on the enrolment days, i.e. 23-24 April 2025, at the booked appointment time.

Log in to the application using your insurance number.
Instead of using your health insurance number, you may choose any other ten-digit number. However, using the insurance number is recommended, as it is unique and always available on your insurance card. This number serves only as your access to the system and is not publicly displayed anywhere. The child as a party to the administrative procedure is listed under an automatically generated code. Then fill out the form, which is divided into several sections, to enter the child's and guardian's details.
- Once you have successfully completed the form, you will be taken to the “application details” page where you will find a summary of the information you have completed and the option to open or download the application in PDF format.
- When you press the [Change Application Details] button, you will be taken to a form where you can edit and re-save the details.
- Check the application number (top right corner of the page). If, for any reason, you have different numbers on the generated applications, submit only one version with the same application number to the primary schools.
- You can protect repeated access to your child's data by adding your own password.
- The completed application will then be sent to your email in PDF format (the resulting PDF will be in Czech as it is a document of the administrative proceedings of the Czech Republic).
Booking a Specific Enrolment Time
- After completing the application, you must log in again via the homepage (Home > System Login) to access the application printout.
- Click on the Enrolment Booking System button here and click on Book Enrolment Appointment. The system will display the schools using the booking system; click on an available (green) time slot to book an appointment, then you will receive a confirmation email at the provided guardian’s contact address.
- If your chosen school does not appear in the reservation list, the school principal has not enabled appointment booking, and you will need to attend without booking.
- If you need to cancel your booked date, log in again via the homepage (Home > System Login) to access the application printout.
- Click here on the Enrolment Booking System and you will automatically be given the option Your booking, in which you can click on the Cancel booking button to release the date for another person.
b) In-Person Pickup at the Primary School
In the days of enrolment, i.e. 23 April and 24 April 2025 at primary schools established by the municipal district of Prague 3. The school will generate and print the application for you, which you will sign on-site. In this case, bring your child's health insurance card and, for faster processing, schedule a specific date and time for your visit.
Important information (summary):
- After generating the application, you will receive a unique numerical identifier (registration number), ensuring the anonymity of your child (in accordance with personal data processing laws and GDPR); this number will be used to publish the results of the administrative proceedings.
- Write down this identifier (registration number) for any necessary corrections or to track the application during the administrative proceedings.
- Corrections and changes to the application can only be made before submitting it to the primary school. If you print the application yourself at home (preferably double-sided), you do not need to contact the primary school at this phase.
- The personal data of the child and the legal guardian provided in the application are required for the administrative process and the issuance of the admission/non-admission decision.
II. phase - Submission of Completed Applications to Primary Schools (ENROLMENT)
23 April - 24 April 2025
Submit a completed application with the numerical identifier (registration number) to your chosen primary school. Applications are accepted during the time period specified by the principal of the chosen primary school. You can apply to multiple primary schools.
Please submit the following documents to the primary school staff by the application deadline:
- a duly completed application,
- the child's birth certificate,
- the legal guardian’s ID card,
- proof of the child's permanent residence (if different from that of the legal guardian).
The application can be submitted in the following ways:
- in person: we recommend booking a specific date and time;
- via data box (each school has its own data box);
- by email with a recognized electronic signature (sending a regular email is not sufficient);
- by mail (sent by registered mail, with the postmark date being decisive).
If the application is submitted using other technical means (e.g., email without an electronic signature, fax, etc.), the legal guardian must confirm it within 5 days using one of the methods above.
If the application is incomplete, the legal guardian will be asked to provide the missing information within the deadline set by the kindergarten principal. If the guardian fails to correct the deficiencies, the administrative proceedings will be terminated by resolution.
Deferring Mandatory School Attendance
If your child has been recommended for a deferral, you must submit a request for deferral to the school. This request must include a recommendation from a pedagogical-psychological counselling centre or a special education centre and a doctor's recommendation.
Mandatory school attendance can be postponed only until the start of the school year in which the child turns eight years old.
III. phase - Application Evaluation
Legal guardians have the possibility to exercise their procedural right to comment on the decision documents within the period set by the school principal in the building of the primary school where the application for admission was submitted, about which they will be informed by the responsible staff member of the primary school in one of the following ways based on the information provided in the application:
- by email,
- via data box,
- by written delivery,
- by phone,
- via SMS.
After this date, the school principal will decide on the child's admission or non-admission to the selected school.
A list of registration numbers of admitted students will be published on this web portal and on the school's website.
The admission/non-admission decision will be delivered or sent to the address provided in the application for admission to primary education and handed over personally to the legal guardian.
If a child is not admitted, the appeal against the decision of the school principal will be handled by the Prague City Hall.
What to Do in Case of Problems?
If you cannot log into the system, whether for the initial application generation or later, contact the system administrator at the provided email address. In the text description of your problem, please provide the necessary information (such as the child's name, the application identifier, the child's insurance number if applicable, the operating system used and the internet browser used).
